Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work The Welcome Suitor by Frank William Warwick Topham for GBP 840.00 (€ 1,247.43). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures at Sothebys in Olympia and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Frank William Warwick Topham have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Garden By The Sea in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,454.51).
