Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures, which included the work A Sick Soldier Receiving Shelter by Frank William Warwick Topham. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,673.06), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank William Warwick Topham - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Garden By The Sea, which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,454.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2006 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Sick Soldier Receiving Shelter von Frank William Warwick Topham zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.673,06) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Frank William Warwick Topham mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Garden By The Sea beobachtet, die im November 2004 für GBP 6.572,50 (€ 9.454,51) versteigert wurde.
