Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Studio Art | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work Two Waterfowl Prints by Frank Weston Benson. The price achieved of USD 446.25 (€ 418.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Weston Benson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Reader in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 2,887,500.00 (€ 2,729,722.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Studio Art | Bonhams Skinner durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Waterfowl Prints von Frank Weston Benson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 446,25 (€ 418,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Weston Benson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Reader im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.887.500,00 (€ 2.729.722,06).
