Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Studio Art | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work Three Waterfowl Prints by Frank Weston Benson. It changed hands for a price of USD 484.50 (€ 454.76) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Weston Benson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Reader in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 2,887,500.00 (€ 2,729,722.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Studio Art | Bonhams Skinner durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Waterfowl Prints von Frank Weston Benson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 484,50 (€ 454,76) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Weston Benson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Reader im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.887.500,00 (€ 2.729.722,06).
