This artwork by Frank Watson Wood achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2008. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work H.M.S. Renown arriving at Plymouth Sound, 20th June, 1922 sold for GBP 875.00 (€ 1,099.22) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Watson Wood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Surrender of the German Fleet, Scapa, Dec 1918 in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 12,562.00 (€ 14,219.43).
