Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Frank Walton could be acquired at Christies in London in September 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work The Severn Sea (illustrated); Rabbits by a Hayrick changed hands for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,801.02) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,800.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank Walton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Fair May, the fairest mayd on ground', which sold at auction in September 2000 for GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,881.47).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank Walton konnte im September 2002 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS wechselte die Arbeit The Severn Sea (illustrated); Rabbits by a Hayrick für GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.801,02) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.800,00 – 2.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Frank Walton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Fair May, the fairest mayd on ground' beobachtet, die im September 2000 für GBP 4.112,50 (€ 6.881,47) versteigert wurde.
