Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A set of ten etchings complete with a focal subject and surrounded by smaller satirical and comic images in reference to the central title by Frank Paton was sold in the The Gentleman's Library Sale auction at Bonhams in London in February 2021. The price achieved of GBP 892.50 (€ 1,029.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Paton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work First in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 17,327.50 (€ 25,788.51).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 892,50 (€ 1.029,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Paton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit First im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.327,50 (€ 25.788,51).
