Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2015 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art; Maritime Art; Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work The 5Th Battle Squadron by Frank Henry Mason. The price achieved of GBP 1,188.00 (€ 1,613.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Henry Mason have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A British squadron anchored in the Bosphorous at Constantinople in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 4,230.00 (€ 7,091.69).
