This artwork by Frank Henry Mason achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in October last year. In the The Marine Sale auction, the work H.M.Y. Victoria and Albert at the Coronation Review of the Fleet, 1937 sold for GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,267.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank Henry Mason - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A British squadron anchored in the Bosphorous at Constantinople, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 4,230.00 (€ 7,091.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 87 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank Henry Mason erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Marine Sale wurde die Arbeit H.M.Y. Victoria and Albert at the Coronation Review of the Fleet, 1937 für GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.267,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Frank Henry Mason mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A British squadron anchored in the Bosphorous at Constantinople beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für GBP 4.230,00 (€ 7.091,69) versteigert wurde.
