Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Frank Hans Johnston could be acquired at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Canadian Art auction, the work Flowering Meadow changed hands for CAD 16,800.00 (€ 13,128.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of CAD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Hans Johnston have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Scene From Acton Island in November 2012 with an auction result of CAD 129,000.00 (€ 99,838.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank Hans Johnston konnte im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in Toronto für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Canadian Art wechselte die Arbeit Flowering Meadow für CAD 16.800,00 (€ 13.128,57) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Hans Johnston auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Scene From Acton Island im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 129.000,00 (€ 99.838,66).
