This artwork by Frank Dobson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2010. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Dancers sold for GBP 50,450.00 (€ 59,109.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Dobson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Female Torso in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 2,041,750.00 (€ 2,398,530.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank Dobson erzielte im Mai 2010 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Dancers für GBP 50.450,00 (€ 59.109,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Dobson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Female Torso im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.041.750,00 (€ 2.398.530,29).
