Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April this year Christies in New York held the auction The Collector: New York, which included the work Watermelon and Other Fruits by Françoise Gilot. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,418.48). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Françoise Gilot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Living Forest in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 9,850,000.00 (€ 1,115,718.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Collector: New York durch, in der auch die Arbeit Watermelon and Other Fruits von Françoise Gilot zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 8.190,00 (€ 7.418,48) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Françoise Gilot erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Living Forest im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.850.000,00 (€ 1.115.718,32).
