Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work A girl in a pink dress, gathering roses in a garden; and A boy dressed as Pierrot, holding a bird and nest with chicks, in a garden by François-Hubert Drouais was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2000, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 80,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 248,000.00 (€ 285,254.20). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by François-Hubert Drouais - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Children Of The Duc De Bouillon Dressed As Montagnards; One Playing A Hurdy-Gurdy, The Other Playing With A Marmot On A Ribbon, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 1,217,000.00 (€ 820,025.60).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit A girl in a pink dress, gathering roses in a garden; and A boy dressed as Pierrot, holding a bird and nest with chicks, in a garden von François-Hubert Drouais im November 2000 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches.
