In December 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Art of Travel and Exploration, which included the work Belgian hms Resolute In Search Of Sir John Franklin by François Etienne Musin. The price achieved of GBP 100,000.00 (€ 111,408.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Belgian hms Resolute In Search Of Sir John Franklin is the most expensive artwork by François Etienne Musin that we have observed at auctions so far.
