Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a sculptor with a marble bust by François Dumont was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. The price achieved of USD 6,930.00 (€ 5,901.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François Dumont achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Queen Marie-Antoinette (1755-1793), facing right in gold-bordered white satin dress with gold-bordered blue sash, white-bordered pale blue muslin scarf tied in her long curled powdered hair in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 69,750.00 (€ 110,994.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a sculptor with a marble bust von François Dumont kam im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion.
