Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings, which included the work A Vanitas Still Life With A Skull, A Shield, An Hour Glass, Books And Papers On A Tabletop by Franciscus Gijsbrechts. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,956.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Franciscus Gijsbrechts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A trompe l'oeil still life of a half-open wall cabinet filled with writing implements, silver gilt dishes, a violin, hunting horn and other objects in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 90,062.00 (€ 106,442.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Vanitas Still Life With A Skull, A Shield, An Hour Glass, Books And Papers On A Tabletop von Franciscus Gijsbrechts zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.956,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Franciscus Gijsbrechts erzielen.
