In June last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Sweeping the Frogs, from the Cowboy Series by Francisco Toledo. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,461.46), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francisco Toledo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Meu Xubi in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 1,040,000.00 (€ 943,824.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sweeping the Frogs, from the Cowboy Series von Francisco Toledo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.530,00 (€ 1.461,46) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francisco Toledo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Meu Xubi im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.040.000,00 (€ 943.824,30).
