In November 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting, which included the work Spanishfiesta Campestre (Fete Champetre) by Francisco Domingo y Marqués. The auction ended at the price of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 36,272.25), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francisco Domingo y Marqués - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The jester, which sold at auction in March 2001 for GBP 47,000.00 (€ 75,839.21).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spanishfiesta Campestre (Fete Champetre) von Francisco Domingo y Marqués zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 36.272,25) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Francisco Domingo y Marqués mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The jester beobachtet, die im März 2001 für GBP 47.000,00 (€ 75.839,21) versteigert wurde.
