Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Francis Wheatley could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Ross Collection From Knockmore, Enniskerry, Wicklow, Part II auction, the work Morning in the Country changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,467.81) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Wheatley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Equestrian portrait of Sir Henry Pigot (1750-1840) in December 2000 with an auction result of USD 369,000.00 (€ 393,054.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Francis Wheatley konnte im November 2019 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Ross Collection From Knockmore, Enniskerry, Wicklow, Part II wechselte die Arbeit Morning in the Country für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.467,81) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Wheatley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Equestrian portrait of Sir Henry Pigot (1750-1840) im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 369.000,00 (€ 393.054,96).
