Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shipping in calm waters, a flagship firing a salute; and Shipping in calm waters, with a jetty in the foreground (2) by Francis Swaine was auctioned at Bonhams in London in July this year. The price achieved of GBP 5,760.00 (€ 6,720.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francis Swaine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An English Squadron In St Aubin'S Bay, Jersey in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 28,800.00 (€ 42,742.81).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.760,00 (€ 6.720,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden.
