The work Sans titre by Francis Picabia was auctioned at Christies in New York in September this year. It achieved a price of CNY 3,780,000.00 (€ 489,285.71), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Picabia achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pavonia in March last year with an auction result of EUR 9,996,700.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sans titre von Francis Picabia kam im September diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von CNY 3.780.000,00 (€ 489.285,71) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Picabia erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pavonia im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 9.996.700,00.
