Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Broken Bridge by Francis Danby was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in April 2013. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,850.43) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Danby achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of the Avon at Clifton, Bristol in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 110,500.00 (€ 139,375.24).
