Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figures by a village stream with figures by terraced houses by Francis Danby was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,755.00 (€ 15,438.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Francis Danby have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A view of the Avon at Clifton, Bristol in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 110,500.00 (€ 139,375.24).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.755,00 (€ 15.438,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
