Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Chase by Francis Calcraft Turner was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,496.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Francis Calcraft Turner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A gentleman driving in a landscape; and A lady riding with a companion in a landscape in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 14,340.00 (€ 22,455.70).
