In the British Pictures 1500-1850 auction, the work Portrait of A Gentleman Traditionally Identified As Mr. Lodington, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Grey Coat And White Waistcoat, Seated By A Writing Table, Holding A Letter In His Right Hand; And Portrait of A Gentleman Traditionally Identified As John L sold for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,820.38) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,00 Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Francis Alleyne; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of Mrs James Peter Fector Of Dover, With Her Son Peter (B. 1787) And Daughter Mary Frances (B. 1791), Full-Length sold at auction in May 2019 with the realized price of USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,423.54).
