Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Group Portrait Of Children by Francis Alleyne was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2008. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,004.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Alleyne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Mrs James Peter Fector Of Dover, With Her Son Peter (B. 1787) And Daughter Mary Frances (B. 1791), Full-Length, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,423.54).
