Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Francis Helps achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2002. In the British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures auction, the work The rites of Spring sold for GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,649.55) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Francis Helps; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The 1924 British Mount Everest Expedition: sherpas loading yaks with supplies sold at auction in October 2019 with the realized price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,059.75).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Francis Helps erzielte im März 2002 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
