Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Holy Family With The Infant Saint John The Baptist by Francesco Ubertini was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 122,500.00 (€ 93,848.16). Admittedly, works by Francesco Ubertini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Madonna and Child with Saint John the Baptist seated among rocks, a village beyond with shepherds in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 432,750.00 (€ 689,366.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Holy Family With The Infant Saint John The Baptist von Francesco Ubertini im Januar 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 122.500,00 (€ 93.848,16) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francesco Ubertini auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Madonna and Child with Saint John the Baptist seated among rocks, a village beyond with shepherds im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 432.750,00 (€ 689.366,88).
