Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Christ Supported By Angels by Francesco Trevisani was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 180,000.00 – 220,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 182,500.00 (€ 144,063.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Francesco Trevisani have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2007 the work The Madonna Sewing With The Christ Child was auctioned for GBP 180,500.00 (€ 245,268.88).
