This artwork by Francesco Simonini achieved an unexpectedly high price at Il Ponte in October 2018. In the Old Master Drawings and Engravings auction, the work Clash of knights sold for EUR 1,600.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Simonini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An extensive mountainous landscape with a battle scene in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 92,500.00 (€ 116,671.58).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francesco Simonini erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An extensive mountainous landscape with a battle scene im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 92.500,00 (€ 116.671,58).
