Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The »bidding war« ended at GBP 35,000.00 (€ 44,146.00), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francesco Simonini - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An extensive mountainous landscape with a battle scene, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 92,500.00 (€ 116,671.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A set of eight individual military figures on horseback, one on a mule; two being attended by other figures, before ruins von Francesco Simonini wurde im Juli 2014 in der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 44.146,00) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Francesco Simonini mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An extensive mountainous landscape with a battle scene beobachtet, die im Juli 2014 für GBP 92.500,00 (€ 116.671,58) versteigert wurde.
