In July 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work View Of The Interior Of St. Peter'S Basilica, Rome, With The Tomb Of Queen Christina Of Sweden by Francesco Panini for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,458.06). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Drawings Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Francesco Panini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View Of The Interior Of St. Peter'S, Rome in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 37,500.00 (€ 27,777.78).
