In July 2019 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna, which included the work Saint Agatha by Francesco Montelatici. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,469.00) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francesco Montelatici have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Etude d'homme assis de profil à droite in March 2002 with an auction result of EUR 70,500.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint Agatha von Francesco Montelatici zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.469,00) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francesco Montelatici auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Etude d'homme assis de profil à droite im März 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 70.500,00.
