Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Venice, the Piazzetta looking south, with a view of the Doge's Palace and the Biblioteca Marciana, the island of San Giorgio Maggiore beyond by Francesco Guardi was sold in the Old Masters Part I auction at Christies in London in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 100,800.00 (€ 116,117.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Guardi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venice, A View Of The Rialto Bridge, Looking North, From The Fondamenta Del Carbon in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 26,697,250.00 (€ 30,639,088.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Venice, the Piazzetta looking south, with a view of the Doge's Palace and the Biblioteca Marciana, the island of San Giorgio Maggiore beyond von Francesco Guardi wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion Old Masters Part I bei Christies in London versteigert.
