Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2024 a collector was able to acquire the work Architectural capriccio with an arch and awning (recto); An architectural study (verso) by Francesco Guardi for USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,404.82). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Drawings at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Guardi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venice, A View Of The Rialto Bridge, Looking North, From The Fondamenta Del Carbon in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 26,697,250.00 (€ 30,639,088.35).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francesco Guardi erzielen.
