Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Capricci of ruins in the Venetian lagoon by Francesco Guardi was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2003. The price achieved of USD 71,700.00 (€ 66,765.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Guardi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venice, A View Of The Rialto Bridge, Looking North, From The Fondamenta Del Carbon in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 26,697,250.00 (€ 30,639,088.35).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 71.700,00 (€ 66.765,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden.
