Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2006 Christies in London held the auction Master Drawings from the Oppé Collection, which included the work A company of artists watching a mountebank show, from left to right: Giovanni Lanfranco, Sisto Badalocchio, Francesco Giovanni Gessi, Doctor Albertinelli, Giacomo Cavedone, Alessandro Tiarini and another figure by Francesco Albani. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,040.00 (€ 7,479.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Albani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Family In A Landscape in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 236,750.00 (€ 276,799.16).

Im Dezember 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion Master Drawings from the Oppé Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit A company of artists watching a mountebank show, from left to right: Giovanni Lanfranco, Sisto Badalocchio, Francesco Giovanni Gessi, Doctor Albertinelli, Giacomo Cavedone, Alessandro Tiarini and another figure von Francesco Albani zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 7.479,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francesco Albani erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Holy Family In A Landscape im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 236.750,00 (€ 276.799,16).
