This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings, 19th C Paintings, Furniture and Works of Art at Sothebys in Milan and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 60,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Filippo Palizzi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Italian noah'S Ark sold at auction in December 2018 with the realized price of GBP 298,000.00 (€ 331,998.43).
