This artwork by Fernando Cueto Amorsolo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the 20th and 21st Century Art Morning Session auction, the work Old Lady sold for HKD 687,500.00 (€ 72,674.06) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 280,000.00. Admittedly, works by Fernando Cueto Amorsolo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maiden With Fruits, 1930 in March 2019 with an auction result of HKD 4,975,625.00 (€ 564,565.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fernando Cueto Amorsolo erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th and 21st Century Art Morning Session wurde die Arbeit Old Lady für HKD 687.500,00 (€ 72.674,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 280.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fernando Cueto Amorsolo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Maiden With Fruits, 1930 im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.975.625,00 (€ 564.565,93).
