Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Fernando Cueto Amorsolo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. In the 20th Century Art Day Sale auction, the work Under the Mango Tree sold for HKD 1,764,000.00 (€ 211,434.95) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fernando Cueto Amorsolo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Maiden With Fruits, 1930, which sold at auction in March 2019 for HKD 4,975,625.00 (€ 564,565.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fernando Cueto Amorsolo erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Under the Mango Tree für HKD 1.764.000,00 (€ 211.434,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 800.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Fernando Cueto Amorsolo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Maiden With Fruits, 1930 beobachtet, die im März 2019 für HKD 4.975.625,00 (€ 564.565,93) versteigert wurde.
