Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Bombing of the Intendencia by Fernando Cueto Amorsolo was worth HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 141,588.62) to a buyer in December 2021. This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century Art Day Sale at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 350,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fernando Cueto Amorsolo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Maiden With Fruits, 1930, which sold at auction in March 2019 for HKD 4,975,625.00 (€ 564,565.93).

Die Arbeit Bombing of the Intendencia von Fernando Cueto Amorsolo war einem Käufer im Dezember 2021 HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 141.588,62) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 20th Century Art Day Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 350.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Fernando Cueto Amorsolo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Maiden With Fruits, 1930 beobachtet, die im März 2019 für HKD 4.975.625,00 (€ 564.565,93) versteigert wurde.
