Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Fernand Toussaint could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Belle Époque Splendor: The Discerning Eye of a Collector auction, the work Elegant Lady with Parasol changed hands for USD 13,860.00 (€ 12,915.85) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Fernand Toussaint have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Femme Élégante Au Parc, Paris in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 71,700.00 (€ 103,140.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fernand Toussaint konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Belle Époque Splendor: The Discerning Eye of a Collector wechselte die Arbeit Elegant Lady with Parasol für USD 13.860,00 (€ 12.915,85) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fernand Toussaint auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Femme Élégante Au Parc, Paris im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 71.700,00 (€ 103.140,06).
