Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work An Elegant Lady with a Parasol by Fernand Toussaint for USD 16,380.00 (€ 15,264.19). This price was achieved in the auction Belle Époque Splendor: The Discerning Eye of a Collector at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 18,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Fernand Toussaint have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Femme Élégante Au Parc, Paris in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 71,700.00 (€ 103,140.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit An Elegant Lady with a Parasol von Fernand Toussaint für USD 16.380,00 (€ 15.264,19) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Belle Époque Splendor: The Discerning Eye of a Collector bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fernand Toussaint auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Femme Élégante Au Parc, Paris im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 71.700,00 (€ 103.140,06).
