Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Fernand Toussaint could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Belle Époque Splendor: The Discerning Eye of a Collector auction, the work Arranging the Bouquet changed hands for USD 30,240.00 (€ 28,180.04) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fernand Toussaint - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Femme Élégante Au Parc, Paris, which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 71,700.00 (€ 103,140.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fernand Toussaint konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Belle Époque Splendor: The Discerning Eye of a Collector wechselte die Arbeit Arranging the Bouquet für USD 30.240,00 (€ 28.180,04) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Fernand Toussaint mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Femme Élégante Au Parc, Paris beobachtet, die im November 2004 für GBP 71.700,00 (€ 103.140,06) versteigert wurde.
