The work Contemplation by Fernand Toussaint was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in London in May 2016. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,850.70), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fernand Toussaint achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Femme Élégante Au Parc, Paris in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 71,700.00 (€ 103,140.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Contemplation von Fernand Toussaint wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.850,70) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fernand Toussaint erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Femme Élégante Au Parc, Paris im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 71.700,00 (€ 103.140,06).
