This artwork by Fernand Khnopff achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2021. In the British and European Art auction, the work Les Caresses sold for GBP 225,000.00 (€ 263,859.15) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 120,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Fernand Khnopff; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Belgian les Enfants De Monsieur Neve sold at auction in May 2013 with the realized price of GBP 422,500.00 (€ 493,968.47).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Fernand Khnopff erzielte im Juli 2021 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and European Art wurde die Arbeit Les Caresses für GBP 225.000,00 (€ 263.859,15) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 120.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Fernand Khnopff; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Belgian les Enfants De Monsieur Neve im Mai 2013 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 422.500,00 (€ 493.968,47).
