Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Chinese Portrait L Series No.1 by Feng Zhengjie was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2017, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 9,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at USD 37,500.00 (€ 31,517.90). Admittedly, works by Feng Zhengjie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chinese Portrait Series, No.08 in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 2,887,500.00 (€ 237,966.50).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Chinese Portrait L Series No.1 von Feng Zhengjie im November 2017 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 9.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 37.500,00 (€ 31.517,90) mehr als viermal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Feng Zhengjie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chinese Portrait Series, No.08 im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.887.500,00 (€ 237.966,50).
