This artwork by Félix Bonfils achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2004. In the Photographs auction, the work Caire, Avenue des Pyramides, 1870s sold for USD 2,390.00 (€ 1,921.07) - well above the upper estimate of USD 800.00. Admittedly, works by Félix Bonfils have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Costume Study of a Syrian Muslim Woman in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 7,050.00 (€ 8,307.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Félix Bonfils erzielte im Februar 2004 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Caire, Avenue des Pyramides, 1870s für USD 2.390,00 (€ 1.921,07) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Félix Bonfils auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Costume Study of a Syrian Muslim Woman im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.050,00 (€ 8.307,80).
