Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Feodor Zakharov could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Property fromthe Collection of Ambassador Charles R. Crane auction, the work Portrait of The Russian Artist Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov changed hands for USD 28,800.00 (€ 22,813.69) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Feodor Zakharov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Football, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 36,500.00 (€ 51,109.44).
