Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2011 Christies in Dubai held the auction Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish ArtPart II, which included the work La Lecture by Fatima El Hajj. It changed hands for a price of USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,721.88) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Fatima El Hajj have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Al Nahda Al Ilmiya inda Al Arab (The Arab Scientific Renaissance) in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 34,797.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2011 führte Christies in Dubai die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish ArtPart II durch, in der auch die Arbeit La Lecture von Fatima El Hajj zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 6.721,88) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fatima El Hajj auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Al Nahda Al Ilmiya inda Al Arab (The Arab Scientific Renaissance) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 34.797,85).
